Wigan Athletic hosts Cardiff City

Wigan Athletic hosts Cardiff City in a match from the first round of the Championship. We are going to take a look at this fixture at the DW Stadium on Saturdya in our vip soccer bets. Let’s go!

Last season in the Championship was not really that impressive for Wigan. They finished 18th in the standings, being closer to the bottom than to the top. There was a time when Wigan were playing regularly in the Premier League, but now it’s a more difficult time for them.

Despite of their poor performance last season, Wigan will be managed once again by Paul Cook. On the transfer market the club spent money for two players, bringing in Portsmouth’s Jamal Lowe and Everton’s Antonee Robinson. Meanwhile players like David Marshall, Lewis MacLeod and Daniel Gyollai were signed with free transfers.

For Cardiff City this is a return to the Championship. Last season they were playing in the Premier League, but they were unable to survive. Now it’s a new beginning to them with the same goal in mind – to return among the best.

The very experienced Neil Warnock remains the manager of the club. Despite of being already 70-years old, Warnock continues to work on a high level.

On the summer market Cardiff City spent some money for new players. The club acquired the services of Heidenheim’s striker Robert Glatzel, while Middlesbrough’s centre back Aden Flint was also signed. Meanwhile the Welsh club also bought Rotherham’s midfielder Will Vaulks and Oxford United’s winger Gavin Whyte.

This season Cardiff City will be without the services of Kenneth Zohore and Bruno Manga, who were sold to West Brom and Dijon.

These are our vip soccer bets for the Championship fixture between Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City in the first round of the season. We wish you good luck.
