Werder Bremen are having a tough start of the new campaign, being without points after the first two rounds. After the home defeat against Fortuna Dusseldorf in the first round, Werder suffered another loss against Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena. Werder’s manager Florian Kohlfeldt has some problems with missing players before the game against Augsburg. Omer Toprak, Fin Bartels and Ludwig Augustinsson are all missing the next match, while we can say the same about Milot Rashica and Milos Veljkovic. Meanwhile Maximilian Eggestein is suspended.

Augsburg have one point after the first two rounds in the Bundesliga. Martin Schmidt’s team kicked off its campaign with a heavy defeat against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park, but in the second round Augsburg managed to win a point after a 1-1 draw at home with the newcomers Union Berlin. Ruben Vargas opened the score for the home team, but the visitors equalised with a goal from Sebastian Andersson just 10 minutes before the final whistle. Union finished the game with 10 men because of Keven Schlotterbeck’s red card, but Augsburg couldn’t use this in their favour.

Martin Schmidt also can’t use some players for the visit to Bremen. Iago, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Sergio Cordova, Felix Gotze and Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee are all missing the trip to Weserstadion.
