Tottenham Hotspur – Burnley
Tottenham Hotspur returns at home to host Burnley in a game from the 16th round of the English elite division. In our English Premier League predictions we will take a look at this clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the capital.
This is an interesting moment for Spurs because their new manager Jose Mourinho just suffered his first defeat here. During the week Mourinho led his team against his former club Manchester United, but Spurs suffered a 1-2 defeat at the Old Trafford. Dele Alli scored a pretty good goal for the visitors, but Marcus Rashford’s brace was decisive for the final result.
It was Tottenham’s fifth defeat for the season, but nothing changes for them – they will continue to pursuit a better position than the 8th they are holding right now. The team made too many mistakes under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, so Mourinho has some job to do. Right now Spurs are 9 points behind Chelsea and the Top 4.
Against Burnley Tottenham can’t use their captain Hugo Lloris, while Erik Lamela and Ben Davies are still sidelined with injuries as well.
Burnley are travelling to London after losing for a second consecutive time in the league. On Tuesday Sean Dyche’s boys hosted the champion Manchester City, but got dominated and lost with 1-4. Robert Brady scored Burnley’s only goal in the game when it was 0-4 already in City’s favour.
Ashley Westwood is suspended for Burnley for the next match, while Charlie Taylor and Johann Gudhmundsson and sidelined with injuries.
That’s our English Premier League predictions and preview for the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley on Saturday. We are sure that Jose Mourinho and his lads will try to answer after the defeat against Manchester United on Wednesday. We expect to see Spurs fighting hard for the win here.
