Freshly returned to the Prem, Southampton suffered a loss in their first match – 0-1 against Newcastle at the St. James’ Park. The Saints tried their best, but Joelinton’s goal in the 45th minute was enough for Newcastle to secure the win.
Sadly, but Southampton didn’t use the advantage to play more than one hour with a man more on the pitch. Newcastle’s Fabian Schar was sent off in the 28th minute, but Russell Martin’s boys were unable to score at least an equalising goal. In the second half Martin put Edozie, Dibling and Archer on the pitch, but it didn’t help.
What could Southampton change for the next match? Maybe Russell Martin will try some changes in his line-up. Samuel Amo-Ameyaw is one of the players who could start from the first minute at the St. Mary’s.
Nottingham Forest won a point in their first match against Bournemouth at home – 1-1. Chris Wood put Forest ahead in the scoreline, but the Cherries’ Antoine Semenyo scored a late equalising goal in the 86th minute. This way Bournemouth robbed Forest of the win – it’s never easy when you concede such a late goal.
Now it’s time for Nottingham’s manager Nuno Santo to prepare his players for the next game. The Argentine midfielder Nicolas Dominguez is one of the players who could find a place in the starting eleven. Dominguez participated as a substitute against Southampton.
This is the free soccer predictions daily for the Premier League clash between Southampton and Nottingham Forest at the St. Mary’s. A first point for the Saints or maybe a first win for Forest for the season? Let’s see.
