San Marino welcomes Cyprus

San Marino welcomes Cyprus at the Stadio Olimpico di Serravalle in a match from Group I of the European qualifications. We are going to discuss this game in our sure win prediction today. Shall we begin?

We won’t surprise you very much by telling you that San Marino are still without a point in this group after five matches played so far. In these five games Franco Varrella’s team didn’t score a single goal and conceded 24. But if you’re following closely European football, most likely you do know that San Marino are one of the weakest teams on the continent. So nothing suprising here.

Few days ago San Marino hosted one of the best teams in Europe Belgium and suffered a 0-4 defeat. Varrella’s boys 43 minutes without conceding a goal, before Michy Batshuayi to open the score from a penalty kick. Chelsea’s striker scored one more at the end of the game, while Dries Mertens and Nacer Chadli also put the ball behind Simone Benedettini’s back.

Cyprus on the other hand are fifth in the group with just four points won so far and without much of a chance to quailify. In five games played so far, Ran Ben Shimon’s boys won one game, made one draw and suffered three losses.

Few days ago Cyprus hosted Kazakhstan in Levkosia, but the game ended with a 1-1 draw. Aleksey Shchetkin opened the score for the visitors, but Cyprus equalised with a goal from Pieros Soteriou. After the halftime break Cyprus looked for the win, but even the inclusion of Anthony Georgiou, Ioannis Kosti and Ioannis Pittas didn’t help the hosts.

In our sure win prediction today we’re pretty sure that Cyprus will win against San Marino on Monday. San Marino are too weak to start winning points during their qualifying campaigns. This happens really rarely and it’s not a coincidence.
