PSV welcomes Apollon in a first leg from the Europa League playoffs. Can the Dutch side take a good advantage before the second leg in Cyprus? Let’s take a look at this fixture in Eindhoven in our Europa League predictions.
After being eliminated from the Champions League, PSV don’t have any other choice right now – they have to fight to do as good as possible in Europa League predictions for today. In the third qualifying round the Dutchmen eliminated the Norwegian side Haugesund, although it didn’t happen as easy as it was expected.
In the first leg in Norway PSV achieved a difficult 1-0 win, thanks to the winning goal of Steven Bergwijn from a penalty kick. The second leg in Eindhoven ended with a 0-0 draw, so PSV managed to reach the playoffs, although they didn’t do it in the most convincing way possible.
In the Dutch Eredivisie PSV started with a draw against Twente, but in the last two games Mark van Bommel’s boys achieved two consecutive wins over ADO Den Haag and Heracles.
Apollon did much more convincing in the third qualifying round of Europa League, enjoying two wins over Austria Wien. The Cypriots won the first leg in Wien with 2-1, winning the second game as well. At their own Neo GSP in Nikosia Apollon enjoyed a 3-1 win. Maudo scored an early goal for the visitors, but the hosts turned the game around with goals from Gakpe and Gianniotas, while Austria’s Johannes Handl scored himself an own goal.

The Dutch giants didn’t show their best face against Haugesund in the previous round, so now Mark van Bommel’s boys will try to impress.
