In the first leg in Norway PSV achieved a difficult 1-0 win, thanks to the winning goal of Steven Bergwijn from a penalty kick. The second leg in Eindhoven ended with a 0-0 draw, so PSV managed to reach the playoffs, although they didn’t do it in the most convincing way possible.

In the Dutch Eredivisie PSV started with a draw against Twente, but in the last two games Mark van Bommel’s boys achieved two consecutive wins over ADO Den Haag and Heracles.

Apollon did much more convincing in the third qualifying round of Europa League, enjoying two wins over Austria Wien. The Cypriots won the first leg in Wien with 2-1, winning the second game as well. At their own Neo GSP in Nikosia Apollon enjoyed a 3-1 win. Maudo scored an early goal for the visitors, but the hosts turned the game around with goals from Gakpe and Gianniotas, while Austria’s Johannes Handl scored himself an own goal.

That’s our Europa League predictions for today the first Europa League playoff between PSV and Apollon in Eindhoven. The Dutch giants didn’t show their best face against Haugesund in the previous round, so now Mark van Bommel’s boys will try to impress.
