Albania – France
After a pretty average performance against Moldova on Thursday, the world champion France is closing its European qualifying campaign with a visit to Albania on Sunday. In our football tips tonight we will discuss this game with you.
Dissapointing – this is how we can describe the way Les Bleus performed against an underdog like Moldova. France won the game at the Stade de France with 2-1, but it happened really hard. Deschamps’ boys needed a late penalty in 79th minute, executed by Olivier Giroud, in order to beat one of the weakest teams in Europe. Was it a loss of focus? Or maybe France just underrestimated their opponents? Maybe both.
Against Moldova Didier Deschamps put most of his best players on the pitch, but they just had trouble to score. Raphael Varane was the other French player who scored in the game, but the fans at the Stade de France expected some kind of a spectacle in the last home match for the campaign.
Against Albania Deschamps could make some rotations in his squad, giving a shot to players like Thomas Lemar, Tanguy N’Dombele, Nabil Fekir and Wissam Ben Yedder. We should wait and see what he is going to decide.
Albania on the other hand are approaching this game after a humilating 2-2 draw with Andorra in Tirana. The Albanian fans surely didn’t like this, because they were prepared to see their team dominating and winning in a comfortable way. Bekim Balaj and Rey Manaj scored for the hosts, but their goals were not enough. Most likely Albania’s head coach Edoardo Reja is also going to do some changes in his line-up on Sunday.
That’s our football tips tonight for the Euro 2020 qualifier between Albania and France. Les Bleus need to win here in order to secure the first place in the group. But they need to do better than their last game.
